So, I’m just going to jump right into the awesome news, because there is a ton of it to share, and it is SO WONDERFUL to finally get to publicly talk about it!

My fantastic, incomparable, and all-around badass publisher, Bloomsbury, is sending me to the UK for a book tour this October! I’ll be attending signings, book festivals, and other fabulous events in England & Ireland, and THEN I’m being flown over to Germany (!!!!) to attend the Frankfurt Book Fair!

Excuse me while I scream/faint/die of joy.

I’ve known about this tour for a little while now, but being able to finally tell you guys makes it REAL. Like, dream-come-true kinda real. I’ll be in the UK from October 2nd-8th, then in Germany from the 9th-13th! (JUST PINCH ME, OKAY.)

I’ll have my official schedule of events available soon, but in the meantime I CAN tell you that I’ll be speaking at the Bath Festival of Children’s Literature on October 6th! You can find out more info here & follow the festival on Twitter & Facebook. Tickets aren’t on sale yet, but priority booking opens on June 21st & then opens to the general public on July 1st. I know October is still a LONG way off, but I hope to see some of you there!!

Again, I’ll be announcing more events/dates as we get closer to October, but… EEEE! I am so, so thrilled & honored & floored. Thank you so much to Bloomsbury and all the AMAZING readers who have made this possible!!! I am BEYOND excited to get the chance to meet UK fans!

AND if you’re in the US, don’t worry! Bloomsbury is sending me on a US tour this August-September for the release of Crown of Midnight! I’ll have details about locations/events for you guys soon! Hooray!!!

SO, I have some quick updates on other awesome stuff. In no particular order:

-The Young Authors Give Back tour was AMAZING! For a recap of the events (and a chance to win a giveaway that includes some Crown of Midnight swag!), check out Susan Dennard's flawless post on Pub(lishing) Crawl (television appearances! newspaper spreads! aquariums!)! BEA was a total blast, too--it was so wonderful to meet readers (and see some old fans again). THANK YOU to everyone who attended my signing! You guys are beyond incredible.

-I feel like this should get its own line, because this was probably a once-in-a-lifetime thing, BUT... Susan Dennard & I were invited to DJ the Kobo party at BEA, and we said OH HELL YES, and it was so damn epic and fun and ridiculously cool, and we didn't take THAT many pictures, but this pretty much captures the vibe/craziness of this KILLER party (blacklights & glow-sticks...Do I need to say more?).

Kobo, you are BALLER.

-The Crown of Midnight trailer is now live! It premiered the other week on (click here) in the US, and on Sugarscape (click here) for non-US readers! I LOVE the trailer—thank you to everyone who helped spread the word about it!

-Crown of Midnight received a Top Pick rating from RT Book Reviews! As a huge fan of RT, it is SUCH a freaking honor. Thank you so much, RT!!

Back Dress-The back cover artwork for Crown of Midnight has been released! This is pretty much an EXACT rendering of a dress in the novel (my favorite dress so far in the series), and I couldn’t be happier with it!!! You can see the full UK jacket on the TOG Facebook page, but I’m still waiting to see how it will be used on the US back cover, too!

Annnnd I think that’s it for now (We also recently sold rights in Bulgaria… YAY!).

One quick thing, though:

My deadline for the third installment in the TOG series is fast-approaching (and I mean FAST), which means I’ll be in Hermit Mode for the next few weeks. I’m going to try my best to answer emails/tweets/messages, BUT please forgive me if I’m slow to respond! I want this book to be the best possible book that I can create—and doing that means being away from the internet a bit more than usual. I’ll be back in action soon, though!

And, one last thing…

THANK YOU to all the readers who have made all these tremendous, wonderful things possible. Without you guys, without your support and enthusiasm, NONE of this would be happening right now. So, thank you for making this journey such a dream come true… I truly am the luckiest author in the world to have you all as readers.

And, just for the hell of it, here's what I'm listening to on repeat right now as I work on Book 3 (I think it sums up some parts of the book rather perfectly):

UK! Germany! SO EXCITING!! I doubt your US tour is coming near me in August but I AM GOING TO CROSS MY FINGERS anyway that I'll make a stop.

Meeting you at BEA was a total dream (in case you didn't notice from my HAHAH HOW IS THIS HAPPENING face at times) and that DJ party sounded so fun!

GOOD LUCK WITH BOOK THREE and cannot wait to read it, duh. <3

(when you're in germany, if you get the chance, you should *totally* go to freiburg and the black forest. because it is pretty much a fairy tale come to life. it's about 2 hours by train from frankfurt.)

Oh my goodness! England and Germany! How fantastic! You must be over the moon! What an opportunity ^_^ I think that it's totally awesome that you're going to be flying across the pond! *applauds* Congrats Sarah!

And I've seen the trailer for Crown of Midnight! It is jaw-dropping amazing just as I'm sure the book will be. I'm also so excited that you're hard at work on book three and I hope that these last minute edits are going well ^_^

And I'm so glad that you had a blast on the book tour! It was so amazing to finally get to meet you and I've got to say that the comment that you wrote in my book totally made me cry when I got the chance to read it *hug* The comments from all four of you were epic and it made the road trip more wonderful then I could have ever imagined ^_^

My fingers are still crossed that one day you'll come do a signing in Toronto because I would LOVE to get to see you again. ^_^

Happy Writing! ♥

Oh no..... I'm really happy for you but reallllly realllly sad as well because I'll be leaving the UK this August as my student visa is expiring! Ahhhhhhhhh you have no idea how long have I waited to hear this news but T_T so close and yet so far...

I guess I'll just have to wait for another chance. With your talent you will hopefully have a chance to visit Asia on your future book tour. Or hopefully I will one day have a chance to visit US.

I'm just consoling myself right now.. But I do believe in you. You've (or well your books have) played such a huge part in my life and I must must must meet you and thank you face-to-face.

Absolutely can't wait to read about Wendlyn. Can't wait to read the completely new Crown of Midnight as well.

I believe that we'll meet one day :D

That's awesome! I am insanely jealous right now, of both you and the people who will get to meet you at these signings.

I love the Crown of Midnight cover. Especially since it's more along the lines of the original UK cover/US paperback cover--now I don't have to order from another country to get the cover I want. (I *like* the US hardcover for the first book, but I had to go with Celaena as a bad-ass over the model version. Plus I tend to like drawn covers better most of the time.)

Book 3 is going to reunite me with Raonn, right? I'm super impatient for that, ha.

I am so excited for the UK book tour. Are you going to be coming to Manchester? I hope your schedule includes a trip up here, it is an amazing city to visit... hint hint :)

Congratulations Sarah on all this exciting news! I'm sure your UK fans will love getting a chance to meet you and I can't wait until Crown of Midnight already so knowing you'll tour too is an extra cherry on that ice cream sundae.

Also, so glad I got to meet you on the YAGB tour! Much flailing has occurred at the memory.

I have some rather fantastic news myself. As of today, I officially have a book from every PubCrawl author on my shelf. Let's just freak out about this.

hehe, had to say that first.

ok. now, THAT IS AMAZING NEWS! ahhhhh the UK! AND THEN GERMANY! My fingers are crossed for a southern leg of the US tour. Crying and fainting may occur if that happens.

Good luck with book 3! Just ignore my email (and this comment, I suppose) until you're done - I'm all for you writing the best possible book! <3 As soon as possible. Like... right now. Seriously. Need it right now to fill the HUGE GAPING HOLE that Crown of Midnight left in my chest!
book feels

p.s. that song if freaking awesome and I'm kind of bouncing around on the inside if it's representative of book 3. I've been listening to A Silent Film's last album on repeat for brainstorm music (thank you for introducing me to them!!!).

What great news! I hope you have a blast in Europe! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your fall tour brings you to Salt Lake's only 3 hours south of me, so I'd totally make the trip down! Have the best time! Ems

Keep up the awesome
I just wanted to thank you for being awesome!! I love ToG and am obsessed with the 4 novellas. I cannot wait to get my hands on CoM. And your books make my job so much easier: I teach 9th grade struggling readers and am always on the hunt for great books that will hook them on books. So many of my students enjoyed ToG this year, and I already have a wait list of students who are chomping at the bit to get their hands on CoM come September. I only wish that I could get a hard copy of the novellas so that I could get them hooked on those, too. I had to load them on my classroom computers, but that meant that kids could only read them in my classroom. Many of them wanted to take them home because they were so addicting that they didn't want to wait until the next day to get back to them. We, in room 10, love Celaena's story, and we are so excited to get back to Rithfold in book 2. Thank you for being awesome, and keep'em coming. I hope that you write forever so that I will always have great books to add to my shelves :)

I'm late to the game even though I read this post as soon as it came out and may I just say BLAH!!!!!!! *FLAILSWILDLY*

This is SO exciting! I'm so freaking excited for you!!!! I can't wait to hear all the fun details about your trip and I hope you have a BLAST.

Also, my friends and I are counting down the days until CoM releases. Honestly. I even asked for the day off work so I can have time to read it. Can't wait to read more about my lovely other boyfriend. How I've missed him!!!!

Love the pics and stories about the tour. You guys were fantastic on the news! I couldn't be more happy for your success. You SO earned all of this. <3

I'm Sarah J. Maas, the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Throne of Glass series (Heir of Fire, Book 3, will be out in September 2014). The Assassin's Blade, a bind-up of all five TOG novellas releases March 2014!

I'm represented by the awesome and lovely Tamar Rydzinski of The Laura Dail Literary Agency. Starting in Spring 2015 - my New Adult Fantasy series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, will be published by Bloomsbury as well! Hooray!

In addition, Bloomsbury published four THRONE OF GLASS e-novellas, all set before the events of the novel. The novellas, The Assassin and the Pirate Lord, The Assassin and the Desert, The Assassin and the Underworld, and The Assassin and the Empire are available wherever Bloomsbury e-books are sold! In March 2014, the novellas will be bound up as one physical book in a collection called The Assassin's Blade! The collection will feature all four novellas, PLUS a fifth brand-new novella, PLUS a bunch of extra content, so... yay!
